What a tranquilized dogs like !?

My dog is getting traquliesed soon for a long car journey , i just wanna know what to look for .i know he will obviously be asleep , but like maybe when he gets up . if your dog or animal has had to the have the same thing or your a vet or something lke that any answers with be very helpful , thanks :) <3
