most were gone BEFORE the Spanish conquered...the Aztecs,and the Incas were the empires that probably wiped out the others...in North America there were several civilizations that had substantial cities...the Mound Builders of the Mississippi were most notable among them...they as well as all n.american civilizations that had technology were gone earlier than all others... they were gone by the time Columbus landed....as to the genetics,there is evidence that some North American tribes are related to Europeans,but that science is still in its infancy...
