Am I feeling a sense of betrayal from internet pen pals?

I've been a member of a chat room for awhile and still new to some of the members when chatting. I've made a few friends on the site and some people think I don't fit in because they think I'm a serious person. Honestly, I'm not a serious person. I'm a laid back individual. I was just joking about a fighting situation involving one of the members. The member that I spoke to didn't take me seriously because I was just joking. However, an old female member & leader of the chat room took it seriously and humiliated me by posting a bulletin about me last week. I apologized prior to the bulletin so no hard feelings on each other would evolve. It's been a week and she really holds a grudge against me and she's encouraging the entire group to go along with her. Does that mean the friends I made on the site are starting to get the feeling of betraying me?
