My dog likes to dig holes. She buries bones, toys, treats, and so forth. What do I do?

We bought new gr yesterday to fill up the holes in the yard. If I put cayenne pepper on the gr, will it hurt the new gr before it takes to the ground? We have put regular black pepper on the holes time after time but she is not deterred from it. Or is there any suggestions on something else I can put on the new gr without hurting it before it takes to the ground?
