My best friend is turning into a complete jerk out of desperation, do i have the right to be pissed at him?

I don't know how to explain this but my friend is turning into a complete jerk. All he ever talk about since the first day of college is his troubles with getting girlfriend and how he has to get an arranged marriage to some random chick in his native country vietnam. I told him he might end up with an ugly girl and he argues that all vietnamese girls are not ugly and most of them are average looking but with makeup makes them beautiful. How does he know about makeup if he's a guy ?? He got into an arguement with a guy at an july 4 party, he announced to everyone that he's going to vietnam to get married. Some guy at the party argue with him saying he is going to get an ugly girl and how she's going to use him for a green card and he started fighting with this dude and saying he's going beat up this guy for dissing his fiancee and ended up beat up in the hospital. He's getting discharged tommorow maybe but I'm mad at him. Why can't he just take things slowly, he is only 19. Heck I'm 20 and I don't give a crap that i don't have a girlfriend, I'm just living life. He won't listen to me or anyone so I guess I'm going to have to be quiet from now on. He developed a habit of drinking illegally now, he was never like this in high school.
