Is it stupid of my dad to not introduce me to a razor?

Every guy I know bought a razor and started shaving when they thought they needed to. No one needs to teach you to do it, just personal hygiene like taking a leak or wiping your . At nearly 17 you should be able to go and buy your own shaving equipment. Just takes a razor and shave cream. Wet your face well, then apply shave cream, then shave carefully. Early on you get a lot of nicks and bleed like a pig, but soon catch on.
